In two back-to-back keynote presentations, Vår Energi and Sval Energi will share their respective digitalization journeys to kick off this year’s Dig X Subsurface 2024 conference!

As an increasing number of companies have set their digitalization strategies and started making their digital transformations, we believe sharing their stories, experiences and concerns will provide valuable lessons learned and inspiration for other companies to follow suit.

Jari Kunnas, Data Science Lead at Vår Energi, will showcase some of the high-level changes seen across the company, such as enhanced efficiency, innovation, and decision-making processes, while also sharing some specific subsurface use cases. That includes seismic interpretation using machine learning, and the GenAI tool that allows its users to interact with documents and other unstructured data intuitively and efficiently.

To provide valuable learning points to our participants, Kunnas will further discuss the challenges faced during Vår Energi’s digital journey, the solutions adopted, as well as collaborations with owners, partners, and vendors, and the lessons learned along the way.

Sval Energi has rapidly established itself as a top-ten producer in Norway after acquiring Spirit Energy Norway in 2022. Since then, the company has developed digital technologies, and Axel Todal is eager to share what they have learned through their digital journey and elaborate on what could have been done better or differently. He will also provide a glimpse into the future by sharing their new delivery model and IT partnership with Cegal.

The program can be found on the conference website. The place is Oslo (Gardermoen), and the dates are March 5 – 6th 2024.
