Statoil has resumed drilling of 7220/2-1 in the Barents Sea. The well is, according to the NPD structural elements map, located on the western flank of the Loppa High, bordering the Bjørnøyrenna Fault Complex.
Production licence 714 was awarded on in the 22nd licensing round and is the first well to be drilled in the licence.
The purpose of the well is to find oil in the Stø- and Nordmela Formations. The source rock is expected to be the same as in Skrugard. Top primary target is at 789 meters TVD MSL and second reservoir on 1565 meters TVD MSL.
