The Goliat field consists of multiple stacked Middle to Late Triassic clastic oil reservoirs with limited gas cap. The two main reservoir levels are the Realgrunnen Subgroup of Norian-Rhaetian age and the Kobbe Formation of Anisian-Early Ladinian age.
The Realgrunnen reservoir consists of the Tubåen and Fruholmen formations deposited in a proximalfluvial environment with some tidal influence. The Kobbe Formation represents in the upper sectiona W-NW prograding deltaic system with mouth bars and tidal influenced lobes, while in the lower section the system shifts to a more proximal, heterogeneous fluvial setting similar to the Realgrunnen reservoir.
Lars-Erik Gustafsson will present at next weeks Hydrocarbon Habitas-seminars in Oslo and Stavanger. Read more about the seminar on the website, and register for the seminar HERE.
«The Goliat Field which entered the development phase with major uncertainties proves to date to be a heterogeneous and structurally complex field. The results from the development drilling campaign have resolved most of the major field uncertainties and the already promising production results will address the remaining reservoir uncertainties. Results and its impact on the understanding of the field will be presented during the talk.»
