Oil and gas discoveries are said to be made because of clever geologists. That may very well be true. But we should not underestimate the importance of technology. Offshore exploration is in particular dependent on geophysical methods for making and appraising discoveries. We now also clearly see that improvements in technology play a larger part in exploration.

This is the background for the two day conference in which we highlight recent advances in exploration technology. The conference will focus on presenting cases where it can be demonstrated that emerging technologies have played a vital role in defining a play or a prospect.

The preliminary programme for the 2015 Recent Advances conference in Oslo on May 20 & 21 is now ready for viewing.

We hope you will join us in Fornebu!
