What can we do to increase the commercial success rates when exploring for oil and gas? Has the de-risking process gone terribly wrong?
GeoPublishing and the Geological Society of Norway is in full swing planning this years NCS Exploration – Recent Advances in Exploration Technology, and fittingly the topic will be «De-risking gone wrong? How to increase commercial success rates».
10-11 May 2017
The backdrop for this conference is that few commercial discoveries are made despite many technical discoveries. Is this due to an exploration toolbox that is not sufficient for the proper de-risking of prospects? The objective is therefore to investigate the effectiveness of both geophysical and geochemical technologies by analysing various case studies.
Session 1: The use of geophysical and geochemical tools in de-risking of prospects
Session 2: Case studies – Learning from de-risking in practice
Session 3: The exploration toolbox / Technology for the future
Session 4: Case studies – de-risking in practice
The program committee would like to invite all oil companies and service companies to submit a case study for presentation.
The program committee would like to invite all oil companies to present a case study in a fifteen-minute presentation during the session “Case studies – learnings from de-risking in practice” at the NCS Exploration 2017 conference organized by The Geological Society of Norway and GeoPublishing AS.
The program committee would like to invite all service companies to submit an abstract on geophysical and/or geochemical de-risking tools for a fifteen-minute presentation during the session “The exploration toolbox / Technology for the future” at the NCS Exploration 2017 conference organized by The Geological Society of Norway and GeoPublishing AS.
