Dry wells and technical discoveries perdominate. Exploration performance needs to be improved! Let's look at some real cases!
The Korpfjell structrue in the Barents Sea will be drilled this summer. In the upcoming NCS Exploration conference in May we will learn more about de-risking of the prospect. Illustration from GEO 05/2016.

The success factor is high. Out of 28 exploration wells drilled last year, 18 found oil and/or gas.
However, the volumes were low. Accumulated resources from the largest discoveries were only between 113 and 275MMboe. This compares with 1450MMboe produced in 2016 (GEO 01/2018; «Små, men lønnsomme funn«).
These facts form the background for NCS Exploration 2017, RECENT ADVANCES IN EXPLORATION TECHNOLOGY/DE-RISIKING GONE WRONG?, May 10-11, at Fornebu outside Oslo. Case studies will be at the forefront.

Det er godt mulig jeg tar feil, men har ikke originalkilden.
