The wellhead breakeven price for shale oil has decreased considerably across North America over the last three years, meaning that shale wells have become more efficient every year, according to Rystad Energy’s latest analysis.
On average, the wellhead breakeven price has dropped by more than 40% between 2013 and 2015.
Among the key plays, Permian Midland and Permian Delaware have exhibited the largest decline in breakeven prices.
