Professor emeritus Yngve Kristoffersen is very busy because he is running a research camp in the middle of the Arctic Ocean – in fairly harsh conditions, to say the least. Together with Audun Tolfsen, professional adventurer, he is drifting on the ice above the Lomonosov Ridge and the abyssal plain next to it (Makarov Basin).
Eventually – some time next year – they will end up in the Fram Strait between Svalbard and Greenland. In the meantime they will give significant contributions to science.
Read about the FRAM 2014/15 expedition on the Geonova blog, and make sure you send him his congratulations.:
Make sure also to send Christmas greetings to Audun, and of course also to their new friend Fridtjof d.y. (the polar fox).
