Moveable hydrocarbons have been overlooked in lots of old exploration wells, and many wells, classified as dry, have proven hydrocarbons by later re-investigation.
In the forth-coming conference NCS Exploration – Recent Discoveries  Per Bakøy (Pandion Energy) will give a talk focusing on how detailed analysis of all available well data, combined with local area knowledge, has led to several significant oil and gas discoveries on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) the latest decade.
«One of the key factors to success has been small, integrated teams with multi-skill competence “putting the puzzle together,” Bakøy says.

     To be addressed: Ivar Aasen/Grosbeak/Beta/Maria/Cara

In his talk, Bakøy will discuss the main reason why «missed pay» occur.
    Bakøy also has the solution:
The presentation will cover how cuttings and mud gas show evaluation, log analysis, pitfalls of log-calculated water saturations, utilizing of pressure data and fluid inclusion data has been implemented to identify “missed pay”.  Focus will also be on the data acquisition program in exploration wells to avoid overlooking moveable hydrocarbons.
«Pandion Energy is of the opinion that there still significant exploration potential in re-evaluation of old wells, and finding what others missed,» Per Bakøy concludes.

    Conference Programme.

The following case stories of “Missed Pay” discoveries will be presented:
